1999-2007 EARLY LIFE (Slovenia)

Luka Dončić is a Slovenian basketball player that is by many considered a basketball prodigy collecting one of the most accolades as a teenager in the history of basketball. He was born in Ljubljana in 1999 to a Slovenian mother Mirjam Poterbin and Slovenia-born Serbian father Saša Dončić, who was a professional basketball player from 1993 to 2010. His parents divorced in 2008, and Luka lived with his mom from that time on, with whom he is much closer until today.

Luka started his career at the Olimpija Basketball School in Ljubljana. In this period he played for various U-12, U-13 and U-14 youth teams and participated in various tournaments, and often being much younger than his teammates, because he was that good.
